Factors: Prime or Composite

Factors are the numbers that are being multiplied to get a product.

To find all of the factors you must use the Rules of Divisibility on the next page.

To list the factors we write the numbers in order from least to greatest:

Let's look at 12, we could do 1x12, 2x6, or 3x4 so we have 3 factor pairs (or 6 factors total)
                  1,2,3,4,6,12

14: 1x14  2x7..... 1,2,7,14

24: 1,2,3,4,6,8,12,24

Numbers that have factors other than 1 x ___ are know as COMPOSITE numbers

PRIME numbers are numbers that are only divisible by 1 and the number itself....
 2: 1,3
 3: 1,3
 5: 1,5
 19: 1,19
